Nautica was founded in 1983 by David Chu. Nautica has envolved from a collection of men's outerwear to a leading global lifestyle brand with products ranging from men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories to a complete home collection. In 2003 Nautica was sold to VF Corporation for $1 billion. David Chu subsequently launched another designer label called "David Chu".

Wow- I never knew that. I was obsessed with Nautica in the late 1990s and really wanted to work at the outlet store in williamsburg so I could get discounted nautica jackets and work with cuties. Who knew?!
